4 Ways to Beat Imposter Syndrome

Want to know how to beat imposter syndrome?

Is comparing yourself to others getting you down?

If you’re just starting out or if you’ve been in business for a couple of years and you’re tired of seeing everybody else grow quicker than you, it might be because of four main reasons –

  1. You’re comparing yourself too much to others
  2. Deep down you might not believe that you’re good enough or that you deserve to be successful
  3. You’ve got some blocks around taking action and doing what you want to do because you might be afraid of what others think or what will happen if you don’t succeed
  4. You’re unsure of how to help get rid of your imposter syndrome on your own.

These are all very common experiences that many of my clients encounter in their coaching or healing business.

So here are the ways that you can beat imposter syndrome.

1- Take Action

If you’re continually comparing yourself to others, instead of focusing on what you’re doing, it can be difficult to see how far you’ve come.

So rather than compare yourself to others, compare yourself to who you were yesterday. And if you did one thing more than the day before, it’s a win!

That’s because business is the sum of the small steps we take daily and just like when you were learning to ride a bike or tie your shoelaces, taking action will help you to grow your confidence and refine your skills

2- Work on Creating a Growth Mindset

The reason why taking action can feel so hard sometimes is because we trick ourselves.

We tell ourselves things that simply aren’t true…

Things like, “I’m not good enough” “I can’t do it”, “It’s too hard” or “I don’t know”.

And when you’re able to shift these into more empowering thoughts or even better feeling thoughts, eg. “Let’s give it a go”, “I can do this” or “I’ve got this!”, it makes it so much easier to enjoy the entrepreneurial journey.

3- Remove Your Resistance

Working on a growth mindset can help you to decide to take action, but sometimes even though you know what you need to do, it just feels like there’s something that still holds you back.

This is why working on releasing trapped emotions like fear or guilt or blame, is so powerful and can help you to grow your business faster.

Your emotions represent your ENERGY in motion.

Therefore if you’re feeling stuck, stagnant or you’re afraid of what will happen, shifting your energetic blocks with techniques such as kinesiology can be a great way to help you move forward.

Using kinesiology, you tap into your body’s unique ability to heal yourself so you can feel lighter, freer and more in flow.

4- Get Help to Beat Imposter Syndrome

Imposter syndrome can happen to anyone, especially if you’re doing something that you’ve not experienced before.

And unlike in a job or work situation where you have a boss, manager or colleague that you can ask for help, many healers and coaches are solopreneurs.

So if you want to short-cut the learning experience and avoid the mistakes that many novice coaches and healers bumble through and be more focused, energised and on track, then leveraging the knowledge of someone else who has done it before is the easiest way forward.

Remember… business is meant to be FUN because if it’s not fun it won’t get done!

If you’re not having fun, it’s most likely going to feel like hard work and you’ll procrastinate and avoid doing what you don’t like to do.

What that means, is that you’re putting your business on the back burner and instead of going full steam ahead, you’re not tapping into your full potential and shining your light as bright as you can.
