How To Attract And Convert Prospects Into Paying Clients

How To Attract and Convert Prospects Into Paying Clients

How do you attract and convert prospects into paying clients and create a successful business?

So many of the clients I work with say they want paying clients however, what I’ve noticed, is that they come across 4 main blocks when trying to attract them.

These blocks are –

  1. They don’t understand who they love to serve. I remember starting out as a remedial massage therapist – I used to think that “anybody with a body” was my ideal client. However, I quickly found out that this wasn’t true. I didn’t love doing relaxation massages – I preferred doing remedial work. And so if I wasn’t clear on who I wanted to work with, it can be easy to attract the wrong type of clients.
  2. It can be hard to attract and convert prospects into paying clients because if you don’t know who you want to work with, you won’t know where to find them. Likewise, if your offer or message is too general, it can land on deaf ears and you miss your mark.
  3. The third – and potentially most common block that I’ve observed, is that many coaches and healers aren’t trained in sales. Or they find the process pushy or awkward, making it hard to convert your prospects into paying clients.
  4. And last but not least, the biggest reason that often stops people from running a successful business is that they are showing up with the wrong ENERGY and attitude around marketing. I learnt this the hard way! For example, I was never a big social media person. However, times have changed and for me to start to embrace social media, I had to literally rewire my perception of what being on social media meant. I had to learn how to FALL IN LOVE WITH MARKETING so that when I showed up, I didn’t bring my negativity around it with me. This made a massive difference because all of a sudden, I found that just by sharing my message with the right attitude, people were contacting me from all over the world to work with me.

But here’s the thing – marketing, advertising and sales are all different skill sets. And if you haven’t been taught them properly, the process of marketing and selling yourself can make you feel like a fish trying to climb a tree.

How Does Marketing Help You Attract and Convert Prospects Into Paying Clients?

Every entrepreneur wants to attract more clients and generate more revenue. Marketing is the process that helps us to identify and understand who we serve.

Think of marketing like links in a chain. It’s a linear process and each link represents a different aspect of marketing. If one link is weak, it can mean that the entire process gets stuck or falls apart.

So what are these links? They start with

  • Branding: this is your business identity – your logo, colours, tagline and what you stand for and how people remember you
  • Market Research: helps you to understand your target audience and who you want to attract and serve
  • Product Development: making sure your service or product that is packaged and priced in such a way that makes it appealing to your audience AND can solve their problems
  • Advertising and Public Relations: relates to your messaging and how you “speak” to your prospects that makes them want to work with you
  • Sales / Client Conversions: relates to when you transact with your customer and convert prospects into paying clients
  • After-sales: follow up and customer satisfaction is essential to keep improving your services and maintain happy customers.

The goal of marketing is to generate leads and build a relationship with your target audience so that they are more likely to purchase your products or services in the future. Marketing is a long-term strategy that builds trust and credibility with your audience over time.

Of course, there are many different methods of marketing – for example, within social media, you can choose to do paid or free strategies – and this is where advertising comes in.

What About Advertising?

Advertising is a component of marketing that involves paid promotions to increase brand awareness and generate leads. Advertising is a way to reach a larger audience quickly and can include various mediums such as TV commercials, radio ads, billboards, and online ads.

When we talk about advertising, we are talking about how you communicate with your audience and create an urge for them to take immediate action.

When you are clear on who you want to serve, it makes it much easier to find them. And being able to speak their language and show them that you can make their life easier, better or more convenient is the reason why they will choose to work with you.

Is Sales the Key To Converting Prospects Into Paying Clients?

Sales is the process of converting prospects into paying customers. It involves building relationships with your leads and helping them understand how your products or services can meet their needs. The goal of sales is to close deals and generate revenue for the business.

And sadly, this is where many coaches or healers and spirit-led entrepreneurs struggle.

The reason is that they might have an underlying mental or even emotional block around the sales. And this can stem from many different reasons, with the most common ones being around a

  • fear of rejection or failure
  • fear of putting themselves out there
  • fear of being criticised or, it may be because they have
  • lack of confidence in their sales skills.

Whatever the reason, the good news is that these can all be overcome.

And I know this because as a healer and coach myself, I had to work through my fears and limiting beliefs around sales. I had to let go of my fear of being seen and open myself up to being vulnerable. Once I started acknowledging that this was what was in the way, I knew that I could change my attitude and my energy around marketing and advertising myself and sales so that I could attract and convert prospects into paying clients.

Lucky for me, I had a great coach who I was working with who could help me to identify what my blocks were and how to release them energetically.

And once we did this, it was so much easier for me to start to be of service to more people.

If you could shift your attitude and energy around showing up and being authentically you, without judgement or fear of being judged by others, just imagine what you could create?

How would that change or impact your business?
