How To Stop Procrastinating And Start Profiting

How To Stop Procrastinating and Start Profiting

Do you ever find yourself wishing that you could stop procrastinating and start profiting in your business?

Procrastination is a common thing….

You’re not alone!

It can happen to the best of us!

And when it does happen, it can create feelings of

  • Doubt
  • Guilt
  • Shame
  • Or even unworthiness.

This is often because, when you procrastinating, you’re putting off the inevitable and pushing things out until the last minute.

Don’t get me wrong – some people LOVE leaving things until the last minute and THRIVE under pressure.

But for most of you, I’m guessing that you’re procrastinating because you’re not excited about the task ahead.

And by allowing this habit to continue, you might find yourself

  • Rushing things
  • Under unnecessary pressure and
  • Missing your deadline!

The problem is, that when you start to get into a habit of procrastination, it can seem like you’re losing your mojo.

You’re not as excited and you continue to put things off….

And as a result, this cycle can continue to occur until you feel like you’re not getting anywhere in your business or life.

But the thing that most people don’t realise is that procrastination is often a sign… and signal from your higher self, that perhaps what you’re doing, is not in alignment with where you need to be.

Is Procrastination a Sign From Your Higher Self?

Have you ever been struck by inspired action?

For example – when an idea takes you by the horns and you can’t do anything else until you’ve achieved this goal?

I love it when this happens, because for me, it’s a sign that my higher self, or my Soul is showing me the way and guiding me towards my purpose.

And the surest way that I know that I’m aligned and working in flow, is when things are fun.

If you’ve read my blog, “If It’s Not Fun – It Won’t Get Done”, you’ll understand what I mean….

And that’s because when things seem like a drag, or a chore, and it’s not fun… it’s usually a sign to me that it’s not what I’m supposed to be doing.

OK – yes, of course, there are some things that you just have to do in your business…. But my question to you, is how can you make it fun?

Because, when something is fun, chances are that you’ll be more motivated and inspired to get it done quickly.

REVIEW YOUR WEEK!

If you were to look back on your week – can you guess how much time you spent procrastinating?

Now compare that with actual working time….

Would you say that you spent more time procrastinating on things like admin or doing your taxes, versus, actually doing the work you love (eg. coaching if you’re a coach, massage if you’re a massage therapist?).

Would you agree that the tasks that you LOVE doing, is actually what brings in the income?

And that it was less likely that you were procrastinating on doing the actual income producing activities?

So many business owners can get caught up in the details, that they forget that the thing that they love doing, is what they should be focusing on.

For example – do you spend ages thinking about what to post on social media and scrolling through other people’s posts, instead of actually seeing clients?

If you do, then I would ask you why?

How often does scrolling on social media bring in new clients for you?

Are there other income producing activities that you could be doing that can be directly related to seeing a client?

And, if you knew, that sending a text or picking up the phone meant that you could be spending more time doing what you loved, which, just happened to bring in the income…. Then do you think that you’d be more likely to stop procrastinating and start profiting in your business?
