Why Business Is Like Sex! (And It’s Not What You’re Thinking!)

I was strolling along the beach the other day when I had one of those moments. Because as if out of nowhere, this phrase popped into my head… “Business is like sex because if you’re not having fun, you’re doing it wrong.”

I couldn’t help but laugh out loud, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that there were some unexpected parallels between business and sex.

For example:

– Connection is Key: Building a genuine bond with your customers can make all the difference in your marketing

– Trust Matters: Trust is the foundation of any successful relationship. Earning your customers’ trust is vital for building long-lasting relationships

– Communication is Crucial: Open and honest communication is essential and helps to minimise misunderstandings

– It’s a two-way street: When you run a coaching or healing business, know that it goes both ways because your clients must take self-responsibility for their own decisions and actions and it’s about everyone putting in their 100%

– Learning from Experience: Sometimes, things don’t go as planned in business and that’s perfectly okay! Each experience, whether successful or not, offers a valuable lesson for future endeavours.

I feel like I’ve been pretty good at keeping the innuendo at bay so far about how business is like sex, but it comes back to the idea that if you’re not having fun in business, things won’t get done. 

And in my experience, this is usually due to 4 main reasons.

1. A lack of focus: Many entrepreneurs either have no idea what their goals are, or they fall into the trap of “shiny object syndrome” and try to do too many things at the same time and end up splitting their energy.

2. You’re bumping up against old limiting beliefs or fears that stop you from moving forward: Deep-seated fears and limiting beliefs can hold you back from achieving your goals. But there are tools and techniques, like journaling and meditation, that can help rewire your mindset and align your desires with your values.

3. You’re not taking the necessary actions or you have unsupportive habits that keep sabotaging you and your business. The thing about unsupportive habits is that they are so unconscious that you often don’t even realise that you’re doing them… But guess what – if you want things to change, then you need to change.

4. A lack of energetic alignment: Resistance can arise when you’re not aligned with your true desires. It’s essential to be authentic and tune into your inner self. When you’re in sync with your soul’s purpose, you become unstoppable.

Remember, success in business is about more than just financial gains.

It’s about having fun doing what you love.
